In the Timber Grader software the measure settings of international standards are programmed as well as the function by which method the stiffness and strength class is predicted.

CE marking by Brookhuis
The Timber Grader MTG and mtgBATCH are officially tested and approved as a machine grading system according to EN 14081. The EN 14081 Standard consist of the following 4 parts:
- EN 14081-1 Timber structures - Strength graded structural timber with rectangular cross section - Part 1 - General requirements
- EN 14081-2 Timber structures - Strength graded structural timber with rectangular cross section - Part 2 - Machine grading: additional requirements for initial type testing
- EN 14081-3 Timber structures - Strength graded structural timber with rectangular cross section - Part 3 - Machine grading: additional requirements for factory production control
- EN 14081-4 Timber structures - Strength graded structural timber with rectangular cross section - Part 4 - Machine grading: grading machine settings for machine controlled systems

In the Brookhuis Timber Grader software the following approved and listed settings in EN 14081-4 and according to EN 338 are available:
- Spruce from Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Russia (for measurements with balance C18...C30)
- Spruce and Pine from Sweden, Finland and Russia (for measurements without balance C18...C35)
- Spruce and Pine from Sweden, Finland and Russia (for measurements with balance C18...C40)
- Spruce from Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and Italy (for measurements without balance C16...C35)
- Spruce from Belgium, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria and Italy (for measurements with balance C16..C35)
- Douglas from Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands (for measurements without balance C18...C35)
- Douglas from Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands (for measurements with balance C18...C40)
- Scots Pine from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland (for measurements without balance)
- Scots Pine from England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland (for measurements with balance)
The settings are listed in an Initial Type Testing Report (ITT). The ITT report contains revised and/or additional grading machine settings to those given in EN14081-4.
The accepted grading machines and settings in this European Standard are based on initial type testing (ITT) and initial type calculation (ITC). When additional ITT and ITC documentation from the manufacturers has been evaluated by CEN/TC124/TG1 and the accepted values are given in an ITT report, which is the basis for certification by the Notified Bodies overseeing the prducer's factory production control (FPC). Those ITT reports may be used as ITT documentation before the information they contain becomes available in an amendment or revision of this European Standard.
A ITT report is one of a number of reports to which the above paragraph refers and may therefore be used as documentation prior to a further revision of EN14081-4, or until it is superseded by a later dated ITT report for the same grading machine.

Future national and international, class or wood strength standards are no problem for the Timber Grader software due to the possibility of upgrading or updating.
It goes without saying that the Timber Grader MTG meets all requirements for CE standards and strength classification!
The Timber Grader MTG is used as a measuring instrument to assess the strength of wood and can also be used as an instrument to check wood when it is graded visually and mechanically.
