The scientific foundation is the Whyte-Agricola framework, formalised in ISO 14644-17:2021. Dr. William Whyte (University of Glasgow) and Koos Agricola (Brookhuis) demonstrated that during active operations particle deposition rates at the product surface can spike by an order of magnitude compared to at-rest conditions. These spikes are often not visible in airborne particle counters positioned at fixed sampling points. They are captured immediately by deposition rate sensors positioned at the product level.
