Brookhuis Careers

Brookhuis develops and manufactures the most advanced inline measurement systems for moisture content, density, and strength grading of wood. Our technology is used by sawmills, timber processing plants, and wood product manufacturers across the globe. We are not here to follow — we are here to lead. Our mission is straightforward: to be the global number one in inline wood measurement technology. Number one or two in every market we serve, or we do not enter it.
That ambition has a name and a date. Roadmap 2029 is the plan we are executing against, and it sets out where the company will be by the end of the decade: a scalable, data-driven organization of 70+ people, with a substantial share of revenue coming from data services rather than from instruments alone. It drives the products we build, the markets we enter, the way we hire, and the way we work.
Our core values — Ownership, Improving Continuously, Keep on Learning, and Exceed Expectations — are not posters on the wall. They are the standard we hold each other to, every single day.
The customer is always at the center of what we do. Every product decision, every service visit, and every sales conversation starts with the same question: does this create real value for the customer? That mindset runs through the entire organization, from R&D in Almelo to service engineers on site at a customer in Canada or Finland.
We are growing across all regions. Brookhuis is headquartered in Almelo, the Netherlands, with regional branches in North America and Southeast Asia and an active commercial and service presence in Europe, Australia, and South America. Every position below is tied to a specific part of Roadmap 2029 — the region we are opening, the capability we are building, or the authority we need in place to do it credibly.

Why People Choose Brookhuis
Ownership and responsibility
At Brookhuis, everyone owns their work. Whether you are developing firmware for a new sensor, closing a deal with a major timber group, or commissioning equipment on the other side of the world — you are trusted to take the lead. We give people real responsibility from day one, and we expect them to run with it. There is no waiting for approval from five layers of management. You see the opportunity, you take it.
Freedom in how you work
We believe that the best results come from people who have the freedom to organize their own work. At Brookhuis, you decide how to tackle your projects, how to plan your time, and how to reach your goals. No two days look the same. For our field engineers and sales team, that means one week you are commissioning a system in Scandinavia and the next you are running application tests with a customer in South America. For our engineers at HQ, it means working across multiple technology domains — embedded firmware one day, cloud architecture the next, sensor calibration the day after — all from our R&D center in Almelo. The variety is different for every role, but the challenge is always there.
A people-first, open culture
Brookhuis is a flat, people-oriented organization with an open-door culture. You can walk into anyone's office, from a fellow engineer to the managing director. Communication lines are short, decisions are made quickly, and ideas are welcomed from every corner of the company. There is no corporate hierarchy standing between a good idea and its execution.
Product leadership as a mindset — and Roadmap 2029 as the plan
We invest heavily in R&D because we are determined to stay ahead, and Roadmap 2029 sets out exactly what that means. The roadmap runs on two reinforcing movements. The first is the instrument itself: next-generation sensor platforms that measure more accurately, faster, and in places where measurement was not previously possible. The second is what happens to the data those instruments produce — predictive analytics, monitoring and reporting delivered as a service, and new measurement domains built on the installed base we already have.
Together they describe a shift in what we sell: from measuring, to predicting, to advising. Instruments tell a customer what happened. The direction we are building toward tells them what is about to happen and what to do about it.
Roadmap 2029 is also a geographic plan. Brookhuis is scaling into a genuinely global organization: alongside our Almelo headquarters we operate regional branches in North America and Southeast Asia, and we are extending that model further so that customers are supported by people who live and work in their own market. Several of the positions below exist for exactly that reason.
When you join now, you are not filling a seat. Roadmap 2029 runs to the end of the decade, and the people we hire this year are the ones who will deliver it.
