When a sensor does have to be replaced, your own people can do it
Each sensor stores its own calibration data. Replacing one does not mean recalibrating the installation, rebuilding a product program, or waiting for someone to arrive with a laptop. Your maintenance team fits the replacement, the system recognizes it, and the line runs again the same day. The failed unit travels to us; nobody travels to you.

An agreement sets your response times in writing, schedules preventive maintenance and calibration around your production planning rather than around a breakdown, and secures priority access to our engineers and to spare parts. For customers running under a quality regime it also produces the calibration record on a fixed cycle, so the evidence is ready before the auditor asks for it.
The underlying reason to have one is simple: unplanned downtime on a measuring line is expensive in a way that is difficult to recover, and continuity is considerably cheaper to arrange in advance than to negotiate during a stoppage. We will size an agreement to your installation and your risk — not everyone needs the same cover.
Parts for systems older than some of the people running them
There are Brookhuis systems still measuring every day that were installed decades ago. We keep them if possible supported, and where a customer wants to move to a current generation, mounting kits allow a modern sensor to take the place of an older one inside the existing frame — often within a single maintenance window, without rebuilding the transport.
Backward compatibility is a deliberate policy rather than an accident of design. A measurement system is part of the line, and lines are not replaced on a supplier's release schedule.

For customers under a quality regime, service is not only about function; it is about evidence. Our quality management system is ISO 9001 certified, our reference standards are traceable to accredited institutes, and calibration is documented to a standard that survives external audit. Our moisture measurement systems have carried approval from the German MPA institute for glued laminated timber production since 2001.
When your auditor asks how you know your measurements are right, the answer should be a document, not an assurance. We supply the document.

Our distributor and partner network is trained by us, on our equipment, so that local capability is real rather than nominal.
Just as deliberately, we train your operators and maintenance staff at commissioning. The aim is not to create dependence on us but to remove it wherever it is unnecessary. The service organization exists for the problems that genuinely need us — not for a setting somebody could have changed themselves.

A system that has been put back into operation is the minimum, not the goal. Our engineers work to a simple principle: while we are engaged with your installation, we look at what it could be doing better. Calibration fine-tuning against your own species and dimensions, sorting limits that reflect how the line actually runs, guidance on where in the process the measurement is worth the most.
The measurement was an investment. Our job is to keep the return on it climbing over the years the system is in service, not just to answer the phone when it stops.
